"The cleaners did an excellent ..."

About: Northern General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

The cleaners did an excellent job in Hadfield 1. Thank you.

What could be improved

The food was a major issue. My 18-year-old daughter was hospitalised for 2 weeks with severe anorexia. The opportunity for her to eat properly was vital to her health. Yet the staff did not supervise her eating nor seemed to understand nutritional needs. She dislikes potatoes yet was served 2 portions of potatoes at most meals.

Anything else?

Also, the doctors and nurses did not seem to communicate with each other on my daughter's case. No one seemed to take "ownership" of her care, and she was passed from one staff member to the next with no sense of continuity of knowledge or responsibility. Finally she was discharged in preparation for transfer to a specialist hospital but she was really left on her own--18, near starvation and very upset. I was extremely disappointed and thank God I was able to be with her every day at the hospital.
