"Appointment sent me to wrong hospital"

About: Crosshouse Hospital

(as the patient),

Having received a letter for an appointment at the Crosshouse Hospital I duly turned up only to be told I should be at the Ayr hospital as Crosshouse did not have the right equipment. This was after having been at Crosshouse for an hour and a half. I have since been to the Ayr hospital and now have to wait for a new appointment. I’ve always been seen at Ayr for the past 8-9 years and now find that I’m being messed around and it’s a waste of doctor’s time.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Potter149,

Oh dear, that is such a nuisance and a waste of time for you too. I am sorry this happened and I would like to understand how it did to prevent it from happening again. If you could contact me, I will look into how this came about. To do so I would need your details. If you would like to contact me, please call or email me direct on 01563 826222 or eunice.goodwin@aapct.scot.nhs.uk

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about this matter and giving us a chance to sort it.
