"Peri Natal Psychiatry Services Part 2"

To clarify I self referred to this service, have zero mental health history, am not under a section, have full mental capacity, am not considered to be harmful to the public nor to myself nor to my unborn baby.

The guidance about refusing consent is on my side however the service decided to disregard my express wishes and treat me as though I had no rights.

A large part of a traumatic birth experience is the loss of control, a situation replicated by this service to whom I went for help.

You should be ashamed of yourselves.

It took me some consideration to write this review as I do not wish to stop others from accessing care that is needed.

I decided to write this review to inform others in my position who need to access this service to make sure they take an advocate with them to any meetings and to ensure they fully understand how their information will be used and to prepare written and signed boundaries about their expectations from the first appointment.

This would be my advice to myself in retrospect.

I now find myself heavily pregnant with this disregard to my wishes being part of my current pregnancy and having to pursue a complaint about an organisation that does not communicate, has no integrity and is not transparent in it's care provision.

I remain anonymous on this website as my privacy (like most) is important to me, however I write this review fully understanding this organisation will know exactly who I am.

Good luck to anyone who is in my position and I hope your rights are respected by this organisation more than mine have been.
