My husband had been a patient under haematology with CLL for about 8 years and for most of that never required any treatment as often is the case with this disease. Clinic visits were always lengthy BUT you were never rushed in the consultation and always left feeling valued as a person and informed of how things ere going.
Unfortunately during the last 2 years it started to cause problems which meant a lot of admissions and treatments in various other departments of the hospital but never was he or myself made to feel we were a problem. Sadly he passed away last month following 5 months of constant admissions for infections and other problems but the care from everyone involved was second to none. Everyone was kind, supportive and caring not just to my hubby but the whole family. Even down to offering support since he passed away. A huge well done and massive thank you to everyone in both outpatients and the wards. I cannot thank or praise you enough.
"A very caring and supportive haematology unit"
