"Nothing much! Diabolical car parking, ..."

About: Russells Hall Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

Nothing much! Diabolical car parking, sheer lack of nursing staff, dirty wards... shall I go on?

What could be improved

This whole hospital needs an overhaul. More nursing staff, more cleaners, more attention to patients. An imporved attitude from some of the nursing staff would be nice as well.

Anything else?

My Nan was admitted to hospital Sept 09 and is still there. Originally admitted with a fractured hip, but has had numerous falls whilst there. At almost five months in hospital, she has dropped considerable amount of weight, the food looks disgusting and to be honest I wouldn't feed it my dog.

My nan had a head injury which we had to hound for weeks before someone would check on it and get round to cleaning it. Most of the time, the carers with my nan were told to clean it, or my Uncle was given the cloth to clean it himself.

My nan's care has been abysmal and the carers who have to sit with my nan constantly as she can't be left on her own are doing there best, but there never seems to be an nurse around when you need one, and elderly patients are crying for the toilet with one nurse running round like a headless chicken trying to get to everyone. I never expected my nan's health to actually worsen whilst in hospital! Falls included a black eye, head injury to the back of the skull and a fractured wrist!

Absolutely shocking! DO SOMETHING about it!
