"Thanks for bringing me a life without pain"

About: Oaks Hospital

I first went to The Oaks in 2014 and was referred for plastic surgery for a complicated reconstructed shoulder operation in Broomfield. A year later I returned to The Oaks for work on the other shoulder. The consultant was the personification of kindness from beginning to end and operated and solved the presented problem. Unfortunately, because I am a diabetic weeks later I developed a frozen shoulder and it was suggested that I went for an X-Ray guided cortisone injection. I was not particularly looking forward to this but when I attended all my fears evaporated quicker than snowflakes in summer.

The Consultant Radiologist and radiology nurse prepared me with care and the entire procedure was over in minutes with me amazed by the result and being left without pain for the first time in three years. I will now continue with several weeks’ physiotherapy but that will be as good as the past three months and if a further injection is required I will not be so concerned.

In the past three years I have survived eight operations but none has come close to the service received in the care of The Oaks.

Thank you from bringing my life back.
