"Hutchings ward staff"

About: Torbay Hospital

My son has over the past few months been diagnosed with a chronic illness which has necessitated treatment both as an inpatient and an outpatient with regular visits to Hutchings ward, level 8.

My son has special needs (autistic spectrum condition) and as such has found coping with his illness stressful and difficult at times.

I am writing however to compliment all the staff on Hutchings ward, in particular three of the nurses.

One nurse has supported myself and my son at this difficult time, and also been compassionate and caring and truly empathetic.

Another has also delivered outstanding and considerate care to my son and has also made it a real pleasure to visit the ward even when my son has been very poorly.

These nurses are truly an asset to the Trust and deserve a pat on the back for being considerate and highly professional when dealing with my son who can at times be an awkward patient.

It seems that nothing is too much trouble even when the ward is obviously very busy at times.

We are all quick to criticise when things don't go smoothly but I believe that these nurses need to be recognised for the outstanding service they have given.

Thank you - we are satisfied customers!
