I attended eye casualty with a slight blur in one eye's vision. I was seen within an hour and then referred to the consultant. The consultant diagnosed a torn retina and referred me the next day to the eye surgery unit at Prince Charles Eye Unit in Windsor (part of Royal Berks FT). There I was seen by a brilliant consultant, a world renowned eye surgeon, who decided an urgent repair was needed. I was booked in for the following day. The whole team here was excellent, from the initial junior doctor in casualty, the nurses, the surgeons and the process for day care and rehabilitation. I have made a 100% recovery from a condition that a few years ago would have resulted in the loss if site in one eye. I was extremely impressed with the NHS in this instance.
Thank-you very much.
