"The staff were friendly and tried ..."

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff were friendly and tried to help.

What could be improved

I was seen preliminarily in a few minutes and details were taken. I was then asked to sit in the waiting area. After one hour (sixty minutes) I went to the desk and enquired and was informed that I would be seen soon. Another thirty (30) minutes elapsed before I gave up and left for another more pressing appointment.

Anything else?

I suspect that this comment will be rejected. I was kept waiting along with several others for an unwarranted time. The only reason that I can see for making appointments that keep people waiting for hours is to maximise on car park charges, the longer you wait the more you have to pay. I suggest that if patients cannot be seen within the guideline time limits then do not make appointments that cannot be kept. Keeping appointments works both ways if any kind of respect and trust are to be achieved.
