"The Nurses and Doctors within ..."

About: Southend Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

The Nurses and Doctors within the hospital had a high sense of humour and were in good spirits through out my visit to the hospital.

The decorative walls in the Childrens ward gave it a very warming and welcoming feel to the ward.

What could be improved

The rooms were very untidy, and i also found dirt in the corners of the rooms.

I live in the Catchment area for Southend Hospital but i would much prefer to go to Basildon Hospital if i was given the choice.

My partner asked for Painkillers at about 6PM and was told they would be 5 minutes while the nurse got them. 2 and half hours later we were still waiting for these painkillers. Service was slow, and the food was very bland.I suggest a scheme similar to Basildon Hospitals new Steam cook food on each ward.

Anything else?

My Partner was also asked very personal questions about her sex life which had nothing to do with the matteri n hand.

Through general conversation these questions were made.

My Partner was shocked and didnt want the hastle of reporting it to the hospital.
