"Ward 3 (Life Savers) - Fantastic care"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

My son was admitted to Stoke Mandeviile with suspected pneumonia back in January and naturally both I and my wife were in pieces with worry. My son is 15 months old and this was the first time he had to go to hospital.

The care and support provided by all at the hospital was amazing, from the cleaners, chefs and nurses to the doctors. All were very welcoming and chatty and made us feel comfortable and relaxed. My son ended up staying in care for the week being checked every two hours. The nurses were very comforting when on lates and caring for my son.

What was really impressive was how the nurses do 12hr+ shifts and still managed to take the time out to talk with you and raise a smile.

My son subsequently got better and we took him home on the saturday.

There are no other words to describe how thankful both I and my wife are, to the care provided by everyone on Ward 3.

Amazing, caring, supportive and lifesavers.

Response from Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments of feedback.

I was sorry to read that you had to bring your young son to Stoke Mandeville Hospital to get treatment for suspected pneumonia. I can understand how distressing and worrying this must have been for you. I am pleased to learn that he has now recovered.

It is so lovely to learn that you feel the care and support provided to you all, at this difficult time, from across all different members of staff was amazing.

Please be assured I will share your compliment with the team on Ward 3 for encouragement and recognition.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.
