As an epileptic I have had to make use of the facilities across Merseyside and on every occassion Aintree Hospital Trust in Fazakerley has been outstanding. Following a seizure last night the ambulance staff who picked me up with amazing and courteous and kept me calm throughout the journey explaining the next steps.
Once I arrived at A&E there was a slight wait to be seen into the department, however this can always be expected on a Friday evening. Whilst I was taken from the ambulance into the department there was a short wait to be checked in before being moved onto the A&E ward. My partner commented how well organised the staff were with such as busy shift and all of the nurses on shift appeared to be regularly checking on patients and dealing well with difficult circumstances.
The communication and teamwork between the paramedics was great to see, and the speed in which I was administered, monitored and released was great.
It was great to have a doctor on shift who following all tests released me in record time (I don't like staying in hospitals)
The facilities in Aintree have always been to the highest standard no matter what department I have had to visit, and A&E was no different last night. From the cleaning staff, the nurses, the doctors through to the highest levels - I really think that A&E is really well run and organised within Aintree. The facilities are of the best standard and the staff are all amazing for the work they do in the most difficult of circumstances
Visiting a hospital is always a scary experience, however I feel reassured and safe visiting Aintree that I am in receipt of the best possible care with the best people.
