"MRI Scan Results"

About: Colchester General Hospital

Following my recent MRI scan I was told that I should receive the result in about 7-10 days. That was 24 days ago and I am still waiting for my result.

I have telephoned the MRI department suggesting that they tell patients what is a more realistic length of time they might expect to wait for their result. I was told that they have to follow their protocol which states 7-10 days, and this cannot be changed.

I have no idea when I will get my result so await the post everyday wondering if I will receive a letter containing my result. I hope that if anything serious had been found I would have been informed by now.

I do not wish to complain but request that consideration be given to providing patients with a better idea of how long they might expect to wait for their result. This would reduce the number of anxious patients phoning busy hospital departments whose staff are already struggling with their workload.

Thank you

Have you received your result yet? If not, could you please email your name, date of birth and address to info@colchestershospital.nhs.uk so we can look into this for you. Please write "MRI Scan Results" in your email header alongside the word "Subject". I've already forwarded your comment to our MRI Manager and want to help you.
