"My stay in the Victoria and Albert ward following quadruple bypass"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was referred by my GP in December 2016 to Kings A&E department as that weekend I had not felt 100%, although no pain I had a slightly numb left arm and a slight tightness in my chest.

After arriving I was seen within minutes and admitted in less then 40 minutes.

The following morning I was sent for some tests and operated on that afternoon.

I was amazed I would have to have a quadruple bypass there and then.

After the surgery I was in Victoria & Albert ward and I must state what a fantastic team of medical staff and a general staff who all nursed me back to health. I was discharged a week later and now some 7 weeks later I am well on the mend and back to work. UNBELIEVABLE! What a fantastic hospital and a 1 st class caring team.

I must thank you all for giving me this opportunity to a second chance, and truly mean this.

Thank you.

Hi, it's nearly 5 months since my quadruple bypass and I must say again a BIG thank you to the rehabilitation team, Anne, Tony and Ian.

I have attended and completed the 12 week program, at no cost, every Thursday and am now understanding the mental and physical need to adhere to what we are being taught about the condition we have and how to live a fuller and better life with this condition.

The team have improved my health through excersise and understanding.

I am doing at least 5 days a week 1hour sessions at the local park, including jogging, cycling, walking, and any cardio excersise I have remembered.

My thanks for the whole process of care at Kings and by the whole devoted team, I honestly feel and move as if 25 years ago!

What a gift I received ,,,,, my life back.

Thank you all.
