It may be true that Croydon University Hospital is not exactly at the tippetty-top of patient ratings and it's in a fairly downtrodden area, socio-economically speaking (sorry but it's true) But my not-at-all emergency appointment (ultrasound scan to my knee) was not delayed by a second; in fact when I phoned to say I couldn't make the one offered because of work I was given an appt a week and a half earlier! The appointment letter was clear and helpful, the receptionist pleasant and efficient, and the staff doing the scan were kind, helpful and lovely. The hospital, despite undergoing works for a new a&e, was well signposted and perfectly clean and the waiting area was pleasant and even had a telly. Last time visiting the urgent care centre when I first bashed my knee up was also a good experience; yes there was a wait but such is life and I was perfectly fit to wait; again staff were lovely. My one wish for them was I think the x-ray room could do with a new lino.
"Very good service from ultrasound and urgent care"
