"Baby was born December 2014"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I had a brilliant midwife to deliver my little boy who was there with me every step of the way me and my partner couldn't fault them, however after my baby was born and the night staff came in I was treat really badly, they wrote down that I had medication but didn't not bring it to me so I couldn't have any more they made me go to the toilet my self even tho I had an epidural and forceps and couldn't walk very well, and they left dirty sheets on my bed which I had to ask them to change, on the morning they told me they would come shower me and they didn't when the staff came in 2 hours later they said come on I'll give u a shower my partner had already put me in and we got wrong for it!! The whole 3 days I was there I didn't get offered anything to eat or drink it was disgraceful I'm going back in April to give birth to my next bundle of joy so hopefully the staff have changed

Response from Sunderland Royal Hospital

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience of care when your baby was born in December 2014.

We are sorry to hear that the level of care you received was not to our Maternity Unit's usual high standards.

We would really like to discuss this further with you, particularly so we can ensure you are not unduly anxious when you are due to come in again in April and the Matron for the Maternity Unit is willing to meet with you.

If you would like to do this, could you please email corporate.affairs@chsft.nhs.uk with your telephone number so we can arrange this for you.

Please do get in touch.
