"Retinal detachment surgery"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

I have recently had emergency surgery for a retinal detachment at the Hallamshire.

At my routine outpatient appointment following a referral from my optician (non urgent) I was referred for surgery for retinal detachment the following afternoon. Despite being terrified, having reached my late forties with no surgery or hospital admissions previously, all the medical staff put me at ease both at that initial appointment and at the time of surgery. I can't thank you enough.

Thank you for your compliments - these will be passed on to the staff concerned as they value such kind words.

Best wishes
