I visited the clinic in January 16. I had an early appointment and was quickly seen by a nurse for a scan who was very kind. I was then sent to another waiting room and seen by another member of staff, also very kind, caring and efficient. I was then sent to another room near the theatre. After a short wait I was asked to change my lower clothes for a sarong.
I kept my belongings with me in a basket and went through to theatre. I was having a general anaesthetic and was very tearful. The staff were very compassionate and I was soon asleep.
I woke up in recovery and had period type pains, I was given some painkillers and a heatpad. The I was given tea and a biscuit and got dressed again with my clothes stll in the basket with me.
After about an hour I was ready to go home.
I was completely dreading the day and the procedure and was extremely upset. The staff were very respectful and non judgemental and I thank them for their kind and caring attitude, it made the day slightly more bearable.
This is not a procedure anyone I'm sure Is ever happy to have but to be around caring staff made a huge difference. Thankyou Marie Stopes for making it a lttle easier.
"Kind and efficient staff made a difficult day..."
