"Short waiting times, polite, friendly ..."

About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Short waiting times, polite, friendly helpful staff, excellent outpatient treatment of my eye condition by consultants, competent, efficient, wonderful attitude to patients, can't rate it highly enough.

What could be improved

In my particular case, northing at all.

Anything else?

I asked to be referred to Worcester hospital because of poor treatment at Hereford for a recurring eye problem due to a brain tumour. As soon as I walked through the door I knew I had made the right decision. On 1st Dec. I first saw a consultant in the opthamology unit. They instantly diagnosed what was wrong, the other hospital had been unable to do so in 4 months, resulting in corneal ulcers and my eye having to be sewn together at one stage. They treated it and changed my medication, within 2 days my eye was pain free and in better condition than it has been for 4 and a half years since the tumour operation, the consultant was unable to be there for my follow up appt. and arranged for me to see their colleague, another consultant there. They were just as wonderful, gave me some more treatment, went through possible others should I need them , which I had never even been told about previously. a wonderful, caring and extremely knowledgeable person. Changing hospitals to the Royal, Worcester has changed my life literally, if the other departments are even half as good as that one, I would be more than happy. I shall be asking to change to Worcester for any other in or outpatient requirements I may have in the future.
