My 85 year-old father was admitted by ambulance, via A & E with a heart problem. He was treated with great care, consideration and dignity throughout, particularly with regard to his difficulty hearing.
All staff, from paramedics, carers to consultant were excellent. Doctors introduced themselves and explained their role, the reasons for various tests and procedures were fully explained, both to my father and myself and my brother.
At no time were we left wondering "what is happening now?" or why are they doing that?"
The new departments (A & E and AMU) are superb, and I think this environment has a positive effect on both the staff and patients. Absolutely first class.
"Excellent care from staff of all grades"
