"Dont take an elderly person to Grantham Hospital"

About: Grantham & District Hospital

My 77 year old mum was sent home in a taxi, very confused, in the dark to a house that had not been lived in for a month, no food, no heating and no care packages available. She was soon re-admitted as she was found in the road in the middle of the night by the police. When she was back in hospital they didn't even notice that she had a rash around her tummy and back and was in terrible pain with shingles. I am also investigating wrongful medication for a condition she did not have. Tried to make a complaint but nobody ever gets back even thought the promise is 3 days (this was 24th January). You should be ashamed Grantham hospital

Dear Wendie

As the Interim Head of Nursing I am very disappointed to read of your mums experience at Grantham Hospital. I offer you both my sincere apologies, and if you would please provide your details to our complaints team on 01476 464133 or by email complaintsulh@ulh.nhs.uk, I will be in touch with you regarding your concerns. Once I am aware of your mothers details I guarantee you an investigation into her care will be launched.

Regards

Linda Keddie, Interim Head of Nursing, Grantham Hospital
