"WARD E4 at Southampton Gen"

My wife had suspected. My wife was told be at the hospital at 7.30am on Fri 29th Jan and as we lived in Christchurch miles away we organised hospital transport. The hospital cancelled and rescheduled for 2nd Feb 2016.so we had to reorganise transport. It came as ordered and took my wife not me as not allowed to S`ton. She sat in reception areas till past middday with all these bad thoughts going through her mind. Not good to start with.

Came back after recovery to E4 ward at about 6pm and was told after numerous phone calls not to visit.

9am the next day my wife phoned me and told me that they were going to release her around dinner time and no need to visit. At 1 pm I phoned and was told she would be out that evening and to visit. So the train I hop. When I get to the ward I see at least 9 nurses at the station and ask for my wife. Just a point is all I got to see my wife sat in a chair on oxygen looking sweaty and manky due to the heat of the ward, must have been 28c +

Even I started to sweat. Machine cable and machines strewn everywear, looked like a bomb had dropped.

She dis not after questioning her get the treatment or amount of care that the leaflet said.

After asking when she was coming home got a vague blank reply about consultant viewing final xray. This is the one that by the way told my wife what they had done whilst she was still under. She eventually got home at 8.15pm.

I tried the feedback form on their website with the code on the form given to me by them. It don`t work. so no feedback......So how to get get their high percentages?

The release form came with the after care booklet saying carry on with what the pyhsio told her......she never saw a physio. Not told about positions etc.

Although the hospital was clean the patients state of mind leaves a lot to be desired especially if you have a life or death ailment. Consultants need a bit of training in bedside manners especially our foreign ones as well.

I am pleased to say tho that my wife is now getting better and loving treatment at home.
