"Warwick Hospital, A hosital which provides..."

About: Warwick Hospital

I have been a patient in this hospital 3 times in the last 4 months, the level of medical, nursing, and care from allied professionals has been exemplary. The teams work coherently, communication between professionals is excellent and ensures every member of the team is clear about treatment aims. I was informed and involved in my care and treatment and all worries and questions were answered fully and if I had further concerns again they were addressed. My fears and concerns were acknowledged and respected.

I was treated with respect and dignity and felt totally safe and well cared for.

The nursing team were courteous, professional, smartly dressed, compassionate and had a lovely sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble and attention to detail was impressive.

I received support from many other professionals, including speech therapists, audiologists, physiotherapists, dieticians, phlebotomists and they were all highly professional.

My only difficulty was the porters who were not always punctual and on 3 occasions were so late I missed my appointments, however, staff were extremely understanding and accommodated me, on one occasion I was an hour late and the clinic was closed but the staff nurse and doctor stayed until I had received all the care and assessment I needed.

The audiology department needs a special mention as the staff there provide a service above and beyond what you would expect. They provide information on support services and are available to patients via their drop in clinics and make every effort to support patients who experience any problems. I could not be happier with the service provided, the staff are professional, kind, approachable, and informative and give you time to ask questions and to provide the answers.

The ward hosts are a vital element of ward life. They made such an effort to cheer patients up. They remembered patients on special diets e.g.I am lactose intolerant but there was always soya milk put out for me I only mentioned it to them once and they did not forget. They were cheerful, helpful and kind and to observe them taking just a few minutes to chat to elderly patients who did not have visitors was a demonstration of their kindness.

The wards are run efficiently and effectively with calm and professionalism, Trained staff are always available and in evidence. All in all an exemplary hospital.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We're really pleased that you are happy with the care provided by various different teams at Warwick Hospital, we'll pass your comments on to the the relevant managers to share with their staff. We'll also raise the issue of portering services not always being punctual with Amey, the company responsible for our Hotel Services.

Best wishes for a swift recovery.
