"Cancer treatment and diagnosis"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

The level of communication between Doctors, Nurses and GPs in very poor.

Important information on Xrays is not passed on to GPs and patients. The wait for essential diagnostic CT scans is much too long. Also for essential ct guided biopsies. Making it too late for treatment for some people.

It is very difficult to get the opportunity to discuss your care in detail, privately, and with support from your family. Also be careful when you are evicted from the accute ward on the day you go home you may be left in a corrider, with your breakfast and possibly forgotten, before they move you to any ward, even if you have terminal cancer. If you need transport home you may need to wait until 8.00 in the evening and they may forget your Dinner. You're lucky if you even get to see an oncologist. They may talk you out of radiotherapy and not consider you for chemo if you are over 80 and took too long to diagnose you.

This all happened to my relative.
