"Surgical pre-assessment"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

I attended the pre-op assessment area and on arrival several people were in attendance. After 1 hour the same people were still waiting to be seen by the assessment nurses. I was totally surprised to see at least 4 nurses looking busy with walking in and out of the area - yet not one person was seen from that waiting area. Also people were being told they would have to wait at least 30 minutes longer and some people decided to walk away and come back another time. I was told it takes at least 30 to 45 minutes to be seen and checked for pre-op. to my reckoning 4 x nurses in 1 hour should have cleared the waiting area?
