"A Disgrace"

About: Lister Hospital

This is the 2nd time a member of our family has been sent to the Lister Hosp. against our wishes. It is impossible to get an answer on the phone line, even being 22 in line on several occasions. As to be put through to specialists secretary but they are on holiday so ask to be put through to another med secretary in their dept. but they are not there any more, ask to be put through 3rd time to another secretary but they do not work there on a friday. My husband has been diagnosed with quite a serious illness, with the confirmation appointment after tests being 4.30 evening at Lister in 4 months time, with no confirmation of what medication he should be on in the mean time. 3 members of his direct family have died or are seriously ill with similar illness, he needs urgent medical advice but no ones there. The hospital is a disgrace, we will never ever use them again. Our teenage daughter was transferred there from QEII for overnight stay as she had collapsed whilst at college. they transferred her in hops.gown and left her in the waiting room for 3 hours with no food drink or a phone and did not even know she was there until we demanded to know where she was exactly. A truly unorganised nightmare. Try changing an appointment - well we have now given up and demanded a change of hospital!!!!

You clearly are very unhappy with the Lister's services - and we're sorry that this is the case. We know that you've said that you have requested, presumably through your GP, for your husband to be referred to another hospital, but if you would like help with what's happening for your husband at the Lister, then we are happy to help you - just email us on generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net with the details and we'll take matters up for you. If you decide against doing this, may we wish you well for the future and we do hope that your husband gets the care you want for him at another hospital.
