About: Leighton Hospital

Certain staff need to consider patients other conditions they have, not just the procedure they are in for. Also Why bother asking you to bring your repeat prescriptions and your medication for your hospital stay if "they do not give them to you" ? They listen (some staff do) but do not take action. Thank you for your recent comments on NHS choices. I am very sorry to hear that you felt that the staff did not take into consideration your other conditions along with the condition or procedure that you were admitted for. We do endeavour to treat all of our patients as holistically as possible and, as part of the admission process, the medical and nursing team will ask about past medical history. This should then be taken into account when planning the care of the patient. All medication that a patient takes prior to admission to hospital is usually prescribed for the patient at the point of admission unless there is a clinical reason why this should not be given. We carry out regular medication audits to ensure that our patients are receiving the medications prescribed at the correct time. I am sorry if, on your recent admission, you did not experience care of the standard that we would expect to deliver. If you would like to contact us further, we would be happy to discuss your concerns in greater detail with you. You can contact us via the customer care team on 01270 278098.
