"The reception area - usually quick, ..."

About: The Huntingdon NHS Treatment Centre

(as the patient),

What I liked

The reception area - usually quick, given a number card. Waiting areas clean, screens letting us know what is going on - including any delays. The one significant delay shown on the screen was explained when I got in. Really very impressed. My experiences span several years - incuding, investigations, hysterectomy (in-patient for 3 or 4 days) and eye checks. Excellent layout

What could be improved

On one occasion - i was not told to go to the relevant place, but given a number card. As a result, I almost missed my slot. This was due to new staff, not fully trained. Ensure untrained staff always have support - which i have seen is usually the case. Childrens area could be improved.

Anything else?

The cleaning is done by Keir - not the nurses. We thought this was great as the nursing staff can concentrat on nursing and the place was very clean. There is talk about closing HUntingdon and moving everything to Addenbrookes in Cambridge - DON'T
