"Better, more holistic care needed"

About: Nottinghamshire County Teaching PCT

(as the patient),

I think my local GP in Nottingham has gradually deteriorated over the last 18 months where I have seen many doctors leaving, and receptionists abandoning the sinking ship.

I found doctors ran very late very frequently and seemed uninterested in my overall care as the patient on a whole. I felt as if they were only interested in treating a symptom in isolation rather than looking at my overall condition and issues affecting my health.

I was sent away time and time again with no treatment plan in place, which left me with no optimism on things being resolved. I had no confidence that things were treated seriously or with a level they deserve.

I'm going to be moving practice very shortly and look forward to better, more holistic care from professionals that treat me as a person not just a symptom.
