"my mother is currently here, she would be safer..."

My mother was admitted on Thursday after a serious car accident. We thought that was the worst of it. We are left more distraught as a family seeing the poor negligent care she is receiving here. Many doctors and nurses are great and as usual with NHS underpaid and overworked. Over this weekend there was 1 nurse to 20 patients!!! We are talking about a trauma unit were most people need a lot of support to do simple things like go bathroom or feed themselves.

We waited 2 HOURS for my mum to get someone in to help her per. 2 Hours to pee when we have told every doctor and nurse we have been in contact with that if she ends up with urine infection she will relapse on her mental health medication. 2 hours whereby she called for assistance before we arrived for visiting her, my sister then approached some, I then approached 2 different people, we left and my brother then asked 2 more people. 2 hours to pee when she is post op from the night before. She is only able to move her left arm about 30cm left and right of her. For feeding she needs assistance. What kind of human being calls themselves a nurse helps her (after she pleaded several times) to have 1 spoonful and then places the food on the table metres away from her. So she can see her food whilst hungry but not be able to reach it.

Finally, water, another basic human right..this morning she cried to my sister she had again been calling for assistance again no one came to even check on her and all she wanted was some one to refill her water which she can drink by herself. Honestly the heartbreak of seeing her with all her injuries is only matched by the heartbreak of the poor level of care she is receiving here.

This whole experience has been distressful for my poor mother and my entire family. We wish we could break her out of there as it feels like she is being treated there worse than inmates and all she did wrong that day was go about her life and some other inconsiderate person smashed into the back of my sisters car.
