"Emergency Gynae assessment unit"

I attended the gynae assessment unit after having a previous bad experience at my local hospital. I attended my local hospital due to a bleed in early pregnancy after being told their was nothing on the ultrasound other than a gestation sac and I would have to wait two weeks until another scan to see if my baby had developed or I had in fact had a missed miscarriage . left in limbo with a two week wait ahead of me and after begging my hospital to check my hcg levels which they declined I headed to st Marys to try and get some answers. The staff on the emergency gynae unit are very caring and helpful and after arriving at 9am I had been scanned by a very nice sonographer by 10am. Only a day later than my previous scan my ultrasound now showed a fully formed yolk that had not been seen a day earlier prompting the sonographer to suggest my baby had maybe stopped developing at 4 and a half weeks pregnant. I was absolutely thrilled to see a yolk sac knowing that things were heading in the right direction. I am now booked in for a repeat scan in 9 days time to hopefully see a heartbeat. If it is not present and I have miscarried I thank st Marys for not leaving me in limbo and giving me some hope until my next scan something in which my local hospital would not do , they were completely prepared to leave me hanging ,worrying and feeling anxious for two weeks. Sy Marys have given me some hope.
