What I liked

The doctor was amazing and the only reason i would go back to Tameside.

Brilliant surgeon kept me well informed and updated about my procedure.

What could be improved

Management of operation times...got there at 7.30am which i thought would be the time of my op but had my op at 10.30am.

I am pleased that you thought the doctor was amazing, and that a brilliant surgeon kept you informed and up to date about your procedure.

With regard to your operation, it is the case that, in line with practice at all other hospitals, we ask patients for each operating list to turn up at the same time. This enables staff to undertake patient assessments prior to the operating list starting, to reprioritise patients if necessary. Some of the staff involved in this process then go into theatre to perform the operations. You should have been told that your operation could be at any time during the morning, and the ideal time to do this would have been at the pre op assessment clinic. I will ask the senior nurse involved to remind her staff that they should provide this information.
