About: Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

It appears from the reviews that anyone needing emergency treatment is dealt with very well but those patients with on going issues and starting the ACHD journey in clinic do not have good opinions of the Cardiology service.

My son has been dealt with in an excellent way during his preop,op and post op time the doctors and nurses at that time were wonderful. However his wound is not healing as it should and visiting the wound clinic twice a week is an absolute nightmare. The nurse who he saw at the initial and subsequent visits now ignores him and by passes him as though she has tried and now does not know what to do so pass him on to someone else he has seen 5 different health care professionals during this time and the thoughts as to if the wound is improving or not change at each visit. There is no order at all in which patients are seen and I personally find this stressful and irritating. There is no excuse for ignorance and bad manners fromthe nurse as we have been nothing but poilite and grateful. I cannot understand why if so many patients as there are have to be followed up at a dedicated wound clinic the surgeons do not change their practice of gluing wounds which obviously is not working. My young son is going to end up with a very unattractive scar on his chest which is not good for anyone let alone a youngster all the comment is is that he can always have plastic surgery !
