"What a joke!"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

My son (4yr old) was taken in at 6pm with chemical burns to the mouth. We were sat in the waiting room after being seen by several different doctors for 5 hours to then be told at 11pm he needed to be transferred to Leeds (after first being told he could stay the night at Dewsbury) and the ambulance to take him there would be a further hour!

My son was extremely tired and I don't find his level of care exctable. It's fine to let an adult stay up till this time but to expect a poorly 4 yr old to sit around, be moved around from pillar to post for 6 hours when he is worn out is not on!

We would be pleased to arrange for this matter to be investigated if the family would like to contact us directly. Please note, however, that we have no control over the ambulance waiting time.
