"Surgery and 24 hr stay"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

I was a patient for surgery on 25 and 26th January. As someone who also works in the public sector I am aware of the pressures on staff and resources, and this awareness means I was even more pleased with the caring and supportive staff at the hospital. Without fail every member of staff, from admission to discharge, was friendly, professional and compassionate. I have previously been in hospital as a private patient in London, and the care I received at EDGH was of a far higher standard. I was fully consulted at every stage, the staff were friendly and showed no sign in front of patients of the stress they must be under. I am very grateful for how I was treated, which I am sure has helped my recovery to be more rapid.

Thank you to each and every member of staff. I will be writing a letter to the Head of the hospital, so that I can name all those involved who were so helpful and kind.
