"Time to shut the hospital"

About: Hillingdon Hospital

Average waiting times in a&e seem to be around 4 hours at any time of the week from personal experience over my last 4 roughly annual visits.

Mothers have recently given birth in reception owing to staff laziness or lack of beds.

My sick daughter was today kept waiting at the locus outpatient clinic for over an hour despite an appointment arranged via NHS direct and there was a very small queue.

How can this hospital sink any lower?

The tax payers of Hillingdon deserve a lot more.

I am sorry to read your comment about the length of time you and your family had to wait in the A&E department and outpatient clinic. It is our aim to provide a quality service to all our patients in a timely manner.

Hillingdon Hospital A&E, like many other A&E departments, is seeing increasing numbers of patients attending and this is contributing to longer waiting times. The NHS nationally is encouraging patients to only attend A&E in an emergency and to visit their GP, pharmacy and minor injury centre for other conditions that do not require A&E so that those patients who are an emergency get treated promptly.

I am sorry that you and your child had to wait over an hour to be seen last week. It is difficult to know the reasons for the delay without knowing further details of the clinic your child attended.

Some patients when they arrive at clinic can take longer than the allocated time and this can cause other patients to have to wait longer.
