My recent visit with my mother to the Assessment Unit for the Elderly demonstrated all that medical care should be. A range of medical staff with a variety of expertise treated my mother with dignity, care, kindness and professionalism. The physio, the on-duty doctor, the consultant, the porters, the welcoming nurse . . . everyone contributed to my mother's assessment and treatment with understanding and humour. We are both very grateful.
