I was very disappointed with the Chorley A&E department this evening. To explain further, my partner injured her wrist and required urgent medical attention. We decided that she go to A&E for, hopefully, an X-ray to shed some light as to the extent of her injury.
For Christmas I received a new book but I'm a busy guy and don't get much time to read. From previous experience of A&E I am well aware of the 2hrs + waiting times so, aside from being concerned for my partner's wrist, I was looking forward to getting into my book.
You will understand my frustration when I inform you that no longer than 2 minutes after we had signed in at reception, my partner was being seen by the triage Nurse. Not to worry, I thought, it's usually another hour before you are seen for an X-ray. But no, straight to the X-ray waiting area and in for the X-ray within 3 minutes.
Then back to the main waiting area for, hopefully, at least half an hour before the X-ray is looked at. No. 4 minutes. She was given a wrist support and we were on our way home.
I managed to get through 3 pages. I'm not happy.
On a serious note we were very impressed with the staff this evening. Thank you
