When I got to the QE today I spoke to a nurse on the ward my partner is on. the nurse said they didn't know who he was and gave me two other names of nurses who may be looking after him but the nurse didn't know where they were. The nurse said they may be on a break, they thought it was so and so and would tell them to meet me at my partners bed. No one came.
When I got to my partners side he was grimacing in pain, and there was a bruise on his stomach/side, I asked if he was ok and he said he had fallen earlier and was in pain.
I asked if the nurses knew but didn't get much sense out of him. When another nurse passed me. I asked if they knew that my partner had fallen and was in pain. the nurse said that they didn't know anything about it but would go and get someone who did.
Guess what, no one came.
I noticed that there was a tablet left in the little pot on the table and told my partner to take it for the pain. I then found another pot with two more tablets in, the nurse took them. So is anyone checking to see if my partner is taking his medication?
The bed clothes were filthy, covered very badly in whatever my partner had tried to drink that day, as he can't eat solids.
The gooey mess was on the pillow, sheets and blankets.
He really did look pitiful as the stuff he drinks for lunch was all over his top that was already dirty and was in his locker for me to take home and wash. Who puts dirty clothes on a patient?
I couldn't get any information out of anyone. He looks like someone from a third world country, left to die in a filthy hospital bed. Where is the dignity in all this.
It obvious to me that he can't feed himself because of the state The bed was in and maybe he's worse today because of the fall. It was impossible to get any information out of anyone!
Nice shiny hospital......not enough staff!
