"17 months and still waiting! Total lack of..."

About: St Mary's Hospital (London)

I was referred to The Patterson Centre for weight loss surgery in December 2013.

I heard noting after asking my referring consultant to chase I was finally seen in July 2014

Having consulted with the consultant and seeing various health professionals on that day I duly signed the consent for surgery. On receiving a copy of the specialist letter to my GP it stated that I would have the surgery within two months

I undertook all tests required by the medical team in order to check that I was well enough to undergo the operation and was informed that I was on the waiting list. It is now 17 months from the day I signed the consent form and I am still waiting for a date. Trying to contact the staff for an update or an explanation is a joke, you leave message after message but are ignored.

After contacting the PALS section again via answerphone I had a letter in August from the Business Manager apologising for the delay, saying there was a backlog of procedures and would I like to be referred elsewhere? Theye finished it by saying I would be sent an update letter in September. Needless to say I am still waiting! I have again left message after message but no response
