My 93 year father has a broken upper arm. When meeting the consultant it was explained to me that surgery wasn't an option, a fact I totally agree with. It was agreed that he should have a follow up appointment in a months time, when he would be re x-rayed and physiotherapy would be arranged. Unfortunately I could not attend this appointment so a carer went with him. All that happened was that his sling was removed and he was sent home with no appointments for physio or future appointments without patients to check on his progress. Now he has an arm that is just hanging down and he cannot use it.
