"Minor operation dermatology department"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

I saw a consultant in the dermatology department in December 2015. Whilst I had a long wait of approx 3/4 of an hour, the time spent in consultation was friendly, swift and helpful. I received minor surgery on my arm on 11 January undertaken by a Nurse specialist assisted by a nursing colleague.

I was also re-examined by the same consultant to ensure surgery was still necessary and the procedure was completed professionally and efficiently by the nurses.

Whilst I have been dissatisfied with my previous treatment in A & E, EMU and once in the Eye Clinic - I have nothing but praise for the staff and the treatment I have received in the Dermatology Department.. I feel confident I have received the best treatment possible undertaken by excellent professional and friendly staff at all levels.

Unfortunately, I do not have the names of the staff involved but I am sure these would be available from my notes if the hospital would wish to congratulate them as individuals. However, I congratulate the whole team and give them my thanks.

Response from Chesterfield Royal Hospital

Thank you for letting us know how your minor surgery went in the Dermatology clinic.

I will certainly make sure your kind comments are passed on to the team of staff and I'm sure they'll be pleased to know how you felt about your care and treatment.

I was disappointed to read that you felt you've not had positive experiences in some of our other departments.

I hope you were able to tell us about these at the time to help us improve our services?

We are always keen to learn from our patients and our assistance & complaints team on 01246 512640 is happy to help when a patient feels something hasn't gone as well as it should have.

I hope you've made a good recovery from the surgery - with kind regards Sarah Turner-Saint, head of communications
