"The speed and efficiancy in which ..."

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

The speed and efficiancy in which my treatments were arranged. The vast majority of the staff were freindly and compasionate towards me as i was very nervous before and after my procedures. i was in quite a bit of pain after some but was scared to take morphine as prescribled, the nurses talked me through options and checked on me regularly to make sure i was ok. All were proffesional and focussed

What could be improved

being provided with information regarding my proceedure before i arrived at the hospital, althought once i was there the nurses were all very helpful and clearly knew what they were doing.

i was very embarrased to use a comode/bedpan at the age of 21 following a liver biopsy as i was not allowed to stand or sit for several hours. most nurses acknowleged my embarrasment and made me feel easier about the situation, although for some i was made to feel a bit silly. i suppose it is nothing to the nurses to empty these but i was embarrassed
