After reading all negative reviews about Maternity units, being pregnant myself i was dreading giving birth at this hospital. However ! Whoever wrote negative comments about Woman`s Hospital probably had impossible expectations about services they provide.
Being induced at 37 weeks was a big surprise. I haven't reacted well to doctors decision, but they assured me and told me about procedures i will go thru. Central Delivery Unit is made of Angels. Whoever choose midwives and support workers did a grand job. I was very prejudiced, but received the highest level of care i could only imagine. Labour will never be pain free experience, and hospitals will never be fully staffed - so people who left negative comments have to understand. I was treated with respect, dignity and understanding, spending 4 days on CDU. Every single person who worked there had a smile on their face, was genuine and helpful. Midwives, who did amazing job by bringing my child into this world were Godsend.
I was offered the highest level of support, and i am impressed by knowledge and experience of all staff.
The only thing you have to remember - its a hospital, not a 5 star hotel, you wont get your own personal butler. :)
So treat staff well.
