"Not a true walk-in centre!!"

About: Wharfedale Hospital

I didnt want to clog up A&E so I checked the NHS website for my nearest walk-in centre. It brought up Wharfedale Hospital. So I went along (saturday eve) but was told by the receptionist that they only see minor injuries, i.e. sprained ankles, and would not see me unless I had an appointment.. I had painful ribs on breathing for 2 days and my friend (a GP) listened to my chest and suspected pleurisy. I was told by Wharfedale that I could only be seen if i rang 111 and they would need to book me in. I rang 111 from the corridor and was told the wait for a call-back was up to 2 hours and there was no guarantee that they could book me in. So i went to Airedale and was seen within 5 mins and an appointment made for later that night.
