"Excellent Surgical team"

This is the first time I have ever had to experience being an inpatient at any hospital and I must state I was very apprehensive at the thought as I am only 34 years old. I had a total left hip replacement operation on Monday 23rd November 2015 and I remained in hospital for 6 nights and 7 days. The nursing staff were very helpful and caring albeit few and far between in Ward 28. This is unfortunately a case for our government to resolve as opposed to those at the hospital having to manage numerous patients.

I was one of the youngest patients on the ward and only realised the true extent of my reliance on others when it came to the post-op stage. It is evident we need more nurses and my experience is a real and true reflection of that.

The physiotherapy team were pleasantly good and worked to ensure I was fit enough to be sent home as quick as I could without being overbearing.

I would most definitely like to take this opportunity to commend my orthopaedic surgeon who has been wonderful from start to finish from meeting them at the first appointment to the surgery, aftercare when they visited me after my operation and during any follow-up appointments. I felt and still feel safe in the consultant's hands and this deserves recognition. I will definitely recommend this orthopaedic department and no doubt will require the services of my surgeon and this department again in the future.

I will now return without any hesitation.
