"In praise of the audiology team"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

I cannot praise the team sufficiently, particularly the audiologist who has been helping me for the past 16 months.

There were several different factors that contributed to my hearing loss and the interaction of the different issues made it difficult to find a workable solution.

But with immeasurable patience, the audiologist separated out the different issues and dealt with (or showed me how to deal with) each one.

I feel I am making good progress and have high hopes of improving my ability to hear, so that I can participate in social activities again.

Many people, given the complications, would have given up, but this team didn't and they (backed up by the ENT nurses) encouraged me not to give up either.

My audiologist is incredibly helpful and encouraging and never seen fails to help with problems that arise. I am immensely grateful!

It is lovely to read that you feel you have received good care from the ENT team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and that you are making good progress. It is rewarding for staff to hear of how well the care and treatment they have given has been received by patients. Your kind and encouraging words will be passed onto the department.
