"Unresolved issues with wrist"

About: Raigmore Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a friend),

My friend fell off his bike in April. He has been back and forth to the doctor, trying to get his misshaped wrist back into working form. He has been to his GP, A&E, Phyiso and is waiting to go to another place which has a huge waiting list and might not even been seen until September? ! This has caused him to have to stop doing any activities he loves such as snowboarding, cycling, canoeing and caving due to the fact he does not want to cause himself more injury than he has already sustained. This has had a huge impact on his mental health and the service he has been given is awful. He went to his GP and A&E and was told here was nothing wrong even though his wrist is at least 5 cm out of place? ! I forced his GP to get him an x-ray and self referred him to the physio department myself as the GP would not. These issue needs resolved, epically as his job includes sports and effects his very day life. I think it is a lack of compassion when the GP could not even acknowledge the pain he was in and how it was effecting the only social life he has.
