"One consultant said 'people with learning disabilities cant judge pain', my daughter can and it is very real "

i am a carer for my autistic daughter. severe pelvic pain started in 2008, due to lack of understanding and disbelief of her pelvic pain she now has chronic pelvic pain... she has tried handfuls of painkillers etc to no avail, nothing has been found on scans to date so therefore the pain is 'in her head'.....

Heartlands Hospital Birmingham was the worst offender for not believing her, the attitude from consultants who saw her was demoralising and one registrar laughed at me when i said one day i will find out what my daughters problem is.... one consultant said people with learning disabilities cant judge pain, my daughter can and it hurts.....

the second offender was the Queen Elizabeth Birmingham, one doctor shouted at us in SDU, i think he felt we were wasting his time, other doctors had to take him to the side..... you cant see pain on scans...... i am with her 24hrs a day and the pain is very real, it has torn our family apart, we have no life, no holidays no outings, just trying to get through the day......

i have tried everything i can to help her, she is under another hospital, but no-one seems to know what is wrong, it seems pain isnt taken very seriously.......i pray every day for guidance, so that we can help her pain and give my daugher a better quality of life.
