"Length of time for attendance of ambulance"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a carer),

11. 20 approx. used 999 to ask for ambulance, my husband had fallen and was in great pain.

11. 34 confirmation call left on answerphone from SW service that they were dealing with call and would phone back.

Callback received approx. 11. 40 - I confirmed that my husband had fallen outside. he was perched on a stool but great pain - possible broken hip.

12. 00 approx. Medic in car arrived from Chepstow put in call to service to say ambulance needed

1. 00 ambulance arrived from Lydney

The day was freezing, despite wrapping in blankets my husband, 77, was close to hypothermia.

I'm sorry to hear that there was a long wait for an ambulance to arrive. It would be difficult for me to comment on possible reasons for the delay without some more specific information from you.
